AZ State Day = fun times

Yeay for fun times! Flagstaff was fun this weekend. Got to see lots of new faces and old friends, which is what makes this TBS gig continue to be cool.

Lauren, Megan and Alex did a great job setting things up for everyone. Thanks for all your work!!

First thing I went to was the reading band at the elementary school. Everyone sounded really nice! Different people got to conduct a song of their choice, which is always fun to see. I also got to play in the "we didn't bring our instruments" group ('cause I don't have one, that's why!!) We played do you love your neighbor and then did some speed dating! Never played that as a get-to-know you activity before but I like it.

After the band time, we practiced the Loyalty Song and the Hymn. Our piano player was awesome! THen the brothers returned and we sang for them and vice versa. Then NAU sang their joint song, and then BO their song, and then UA the alma mater and here comes the band. Kathy and I both have colds right now, so singing on key was pretty much out of the question. Oh well, it was still fun :)

I also got to see all -1 of my transplanted family. Steve, Ally, Laura & Zane were all there, and I'm proud to see all my little freak grand-babies out there! I need some new letters now that I hae seen their cool ones.

Lunch was spent with different people at Crystal Creek sandwish shop. Good times, got to hang out with ASU folks and Steve and Ally. And Mike Gray too! Garrett rode with us, and he is going to run for district office. SO COOL. More people should run, there are so many great people who would be fabulous officers.

On to the music building. Alex got us settled in classrooms, and Lance and I did some talking for the joint session. lance rocks!

Separate time for me was a Ritual workshop with teh TBS folks. I had fun, and it seemed to go well. I'm going to revise it a little and hopefully do it again int he future. KKPsi folks did separate time with Kathy, as Tanya wasn't there this weekend. We missed you Tanya! But they seemed to get a lot out of the workshop, it was about xanga and facebook and how these spaces can be positive or negative depending on how you utilize them.

After workshops we took pictures and then went to dinner at Fazolis! Yeay fazoli's! I wish we had one here in Tucson. Lots of people were there with us, as it was a profit share project. Got to spend some good time talking with Mindy and Alex about their chapters. Let's continue the conversation! There are lots of ways to think around each issue/topic, we just need to keep thinking about possible solutions.

Then Kathy and I drove back to Tucson. We just had one interesting stop that involved me wanting Sonic ice and kathy being stuck in line trying to help explian to Norwegians what tater tots were. Oy. Poor things. Welcome to the states. And then we were home. Flagstaff was pretty as always, I hope to get back up there again soon.

Hope everyone elses' state days go well. Post and let us know!

Snot is not my friend

So I managed to make it thourgh DLC this year and even 2 weeks AFTER DLC without getting sick. And now I'm sick. Ug. Snot everywhere, really attractive red eyes, and the always happy 'can't sleep 'cause I'm coughing' chain of events. Ug again.

And this weekend is state day! I am planning to drive up on friday night and stay over, then see everyone on saturday and drive home that night. I'm so glad lots of Omegans are going, I think it will be fun.

OTherwise, just trying to keep working and keep things moving forward. Dog is doing well, I took her to see snow for the first time in her puppy life yesterday! It snowed up in the town of Oracle yesterday, so we drove about 30 minutes to go see it. She had a blast! She just wanted to roll around and jump around in all the snow. Very cute. And then I went home and resumed feeling crappy because of the sickness. Ug.

What else? I want my 80 degrees back. I would like to go to the lake. Excel is my nemesis. That's it for now :)

DLC is coming up this weekend...I am so excited to see everyone who is planning on coming down to Tempe. I KNOW Megan and Lance and the district officers have a really awesome weekend planned. It will also be really really nice to DRIVE to DLC this year, and only for 1.5 hours:)

I am doing everything that I can think of NOT to get a cold this week. I do not want to spend another DLC voiceless and unable to participate in everything we're doing!

That's it, we'll see you this weekend :)
